National Honor Society
The Romulus Central School Chapter of the National Honor Society recognizes students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Membership in NHS is both an honor and a commitment to maintaining high standards while contributing positively to the school and greater community.
The Four Pillars
Scholarship
Demonstrating academic achievement, effort, curiosity, integrity, and a willingness to grow as a learner.
Leadership
Positively guiding, motivating, organizing, or supporting others. Leadership can be demonstrated with or without holding a formal title.
Service
Giving time and effort to support the school or community without receiving payment or another reward.
Character
Demonstrating honesty, responsibility, respect, fairness, and positive decision-making.
Membership Eligibility
Students may be considered for membership if they:
- Are members of the junior or senior class
- Have been enrolled at Romulus Central School for at least one semester
- Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 85
Meeting these requirements establishes eligibility for consideration but does not guarantee selection. Candidates are further considered based on scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
