Concern About Your Child's Progress?

If you have concerns about your child's academic progress, behavior, communication, social-emotional development, or overall school performance, we encourage you to share those concerns with your child's teacher or building principal. We believe that early communication and collaboration between families and school staff are the best first steps in helping students succeed.

Comprehensive Evaluation

Before determining whether a student is eligible for special education services, the district conducts a comprehensive evaluation with written parent consent. The evaluation helps the Committee understand your child's strengths, areas of need, and how those needs affect learning.

Depending on your child's individual needs, the evaluation may include educational, psychological, speech-language, occupational therapy, physical therapy, behavioral, or other assessments. Parents are important partners in this process and are encouraged to share information about their child's strengths, interests, and experiences.
