FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Greetings Romulus Families,

I hope that all of you have been enjoying your summer vacations and that you have enjoyed some quality time together.  Our school has remained a busy place.  The regional summer school in Geneva has been operating smoothly.  Our driver’s education program concluded on July 28th and as the instructor of that program, I am happy to report that there were only a few close calls and all of them improved significantly.  There has been some work at our school to extend security cameras coverage and internet coverage to some of our athletic fields.  Our maintenance staff has been hard at work in getting rooms cleaned and ready for the new school year.

There are some changes coming up for the 2023-2024 school year that I want to make sure that you are aware of.  First of all, while I will remain the PK-12 principal, Mr. Pane the Dean of Students will be handling all PK-5 student management issues and I will focus on all 6-12 student management issues.  If I am not in school or not available, Mr. Pane will be next in line.  If you have any concerns about a student management issue I will be your first point of contact.  Also, the 6th grade students are now officially considered middle school students.  They will eat lunch with the middle school students and attend all events with the secondary students.  They may still participate in a few elementary events throughout the school year, but those will be limited and will be determined on a case by case basis.

We are currently searching for a Technology teacher as Mr. Stewart has left our district for another district.  If you know of a certified candidate please contact the office.  If we do not find a technology teacher the courses that were offered through that program will need to be replaced with other courses.  I do have a plan B in place in case that happens.

As a reminder, all school supplies will be provided by the district.  All you need to buy this year are headphones and a backpack.  Student schedules will be sent out near the end of August.  If there are any questions or concerns with them please reach out to me.  Fall athletes should be on the lookout for communications regarding practices, physicals, and all other items related to fall sports.

I look forward to another exciting school year with your students.  The parent-school relationship is vitally important to make your children the best that they can be, so please make sure that you reach out to your child’s teacher and/or administration if you have any questions or concerns.  Enjoy the rest of your summer.
